Overview
Dr. Sunitha has an MA (Teaching English as a Second Language) and a PhD (English Language Education) from the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. Her PhD thesis was titled "Effect of Explicit Instruction of Formulaic Sequences on the Oral Fluency of Young ESL Learners". Her research has centred around Second Language Acquisition with the primary focus on formulaic sequences and oral fluency.

As a Teaching Assistant (January 2016 – December 2016), was responsible for teaching on two 160-hour Proficiency Courses and conducting ‘phonetics and spoken English’ sessions in the Language Laboratory; and was the course coordinator for one 40-hour Proficiency Course.

- Published a paper in the International Journal of English: Literature, Language & Skills, titled: Story as a Vehicle: Teaching Vocabulary to Young ESL Learners (Volume 5 Issue 1, pp. 167-177).
