I have been fortunate to have had the privilege of being the founder Director
of IIMV. It has been a matter of great pride witnessing the Institute rise in
stature with every successive year. The Institute, since its inception in 2015
has come a long way in its development and growth, and today competes
with many older and established IIMs on an equal footing.
An academic institution is known by the credentials of its faculty and the
learning outcomes of its students. On both fronts the Institute has been able
to make a mark, attracting highly accomplished faculty with doctoral
degrees from the very top-notch institutions that too with a judicious blend
of corporate and academic experience; and nurturing successive cohorts of
creative, competent and confident millennials, as managers of mettle,
imbued with shared values and social responsibility. Year-on-year, the
students have excelled not just in academics, but in pan-India competitions
in co- and extra-curricular activities, covering themselves in glory and win-
ning many laurels for the Institute. Their talents have made the Institute the
preferred destination for many top-notch recruiters. The graduate-outcomes
have been of high order, setting new benchmarks among the business
schools.
The staff of the Institute have been a source of great support. They are a
cohort with a solution mindset and commitment to stakeholder-delight.
They add to the strengths of the Institute, in no mean measure.
For our run-away success, due credit must be given to our Mentor Institute
IIM Bangalore and its faculty. The strength and traction the Institute derived
from their guidance and contribution to the academic and governance
processes, has been immense.
The Institute has benefited much from being located in the vibrant, clean and
green “City of Destiny” known for its talent and technology-savviness; entre-
preneurship and enterprise; innovation and industry; pluralism and profes-
sionalism.
With its temporary campus replete with modern facilities and amenities in
the vibrant, knowledge-precincts of the famed Andhra University, enhanced
image and identity of the Institute are a given.
The Institute could thus venture with consistency into new and innovative
initiatives every year that contributed to its strengths and accomplishments
emerging as unmatched. The Institute is the first ever and the only IIM to
offer an MBA program in Digital Governance & Management under the aegis
of and sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology
(MeitY), Govt. of India; is only the fifth IIM and the only one in its generation
to be granted the Technology Incubation & Development of Entrepreneurship
(TIDE) Centre by MeitY; has emerged as a sought-after source for executive
education by the government and blue-chip public sector organizations; and,
has been enjoying excellent linkage with apex industry bodies like the Confed-
eration of Indian Industry.
The Institute has been partnering with IIM Bangalore in promoting entrepre-
neurship among women, under a unique initiative called as Women Start-up
Program. The custom-designed intervention nurtures and builds entrepre-
neurial skills through mentoring, knowledge-support and incubation facili-
ties. The Institute has therefore been able to play a constructive role in facili-
tating creative ideas convert into successful innovations and is proud of its
remarkable work towards gender development and empowerment.
