RESEARCH AT IIMV

Prof. Deepika Gupta has been conferred the C K Prahalad Prashasti Award for
Corporate and Social Strategy 2022 for her research on Cultural Entrepreneurship &
Intellectual Property. This award was conferred by ReTHINK INDIA to eminent figures
in Corporate & Social Strategy to celebrate their strategic contributions toward Aatm-
nirbhar Bharat.

Prof. Mohammad Shameem Jawed presented his paper titled ‘COVID-19,
Administrative Interventions, and Vaccination-Impact on Hospitality, Tourism, and
Leisure Sector: A Multi-country Analysis’ co-authored with Ms. PraveenaMusunuru
(PhD Student, IIMV), and Prof. A V Tapar (Faculty, IIM Rohtak)at the AIB South Asia
Conference 2022 on 24 January.

He also presented a paper titled ‘COVID-19, Stock Liquidity, and Abnormal Returns’
co-authored with Ms. PraveenaMusunuru (PhD Student, IIMV) at the Investing in Recov-
ery: Challenges and Opportunities for Indian Securities Markets Conference on 24 Febru-
ary.

Prof. Shameem delivered a lecture on ‘Decentralised Finance’ at GITAM University (Deemed to be University)
on 5 April. He delivered an expert session on ‘Creation and Management of e-Cell or Incubation Center’ during
an Online FDP under AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy on Fostering Startup, Innovation and
Entrepreneurship/Intrapreneurship organised by AU Incubation Center on 16 February.

Between March and April 2022, Prof. Shameem also delivered a few guest lecturers on Entrepreneurial Finance
at MDI Murshidabad to the second year PGP students. Some of the key topics covered include Equity and Debt
Financing in Startups, Angel VC Funding, Startup Valuation, Deal Structuring, Planning and Execution of Exit
for Investors.
