IIM Visakhapatnam initiatives under the Mission of PM Gati Shakti

PM Gati Shakti is a National Master Plan (NMP) for multi-modal connectivity to provide integrated and seamless connectivity for movement of people, goods and services from one mode of transport to another. The NMP facilitates the last mile connectivity of infrastructure and also reduces travel time for people in delivering the necessary goods.

With a view to building capacities in the professionals and practitioners who could strengthen the implementation of the NMP, IIM Visakhapatnam has initiated several steps. One such initiative is to share knowledge through well-structured online Executive Education Programs (EEP).

Accordingly, six-month, online Executive Certificate Programs titled “Digital Supply Chain and Logistics Management” were launched in succession. The focus of the programs is digitization of Supply Chains and Management of Logistics. Experience-sharing sessions have been bringing to the table, practical exposure on enhancing the supply-chain and logistics performance in key sectors such as textiles, food and processed foods, retail goods etc.

The broad Program Objectives are:
  • To develop in the participants, better understanding of the various supply chain and logistics processes.
  • To help them develop and analyse the role of digital transformation of the supply chain and logistics processes.
  • To enable them to analyse the effectiveness of their supply chain and logistics processes in the digital age and strengthen the same for enhanced performance.
