Applications of AI/ML Program under the aegis of National e-governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India

IIM Visakhapatnam hosted a 2-day Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning training program under the aegis of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), MeitY, as part of the Digital India initiative (December 1–2, 2025).

25 government officials from 8 States/UTs participated and explored:
  • Core AI/ML concepts and tools
  • Applications in governance
  • Ethics, regulation, and data privacy
The program was led by Prof. Srinivas Josyula and Prof. Rishi Raj. The inauguration was graced by Prof. Kaveri Krishna (Dean, Administration), who emphasized that AI and ML are powerful tools that must be used responsibly, with transparency, ethics, and privacy at the forefront.

The valedictory session was addressed by Prof. Vijaya Marisetty (Dean, Academics), who highlighted how AI and ML create value not only in industry but also across government systems and public service delivery.

Participants shared that the hands-on crash course gave them clearer insights and the confidence to apply AI in their day-to-day official duties.

The program is part of IIM Visakhapatnam’s larger initiative to strengthen future-ready digital governance capabilities.
