The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) marked a significant milestone today with the valedictory session of the inaugural batch of Executive Program in Business Management (EPBM), celebrating the successful completion of the 12-month journey.

The program, tailored for mid- and senior-level professionals, saw participation from 81 corporate executives representing diverse industries across India, with the average work experience of the cohort being an impressive 15 years. The program culminated in a three-day campus immersion, offering participants an enriching on-site learning experience.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Sushil Kumar, Program Director, congratulated the cohort on their achievement. He remarked, “The ultimate objective of such programs is sustained professional performance. The EPBM was designed keeping in mind the conceptual dilemmas and real-world challenges faced by today’s business leaders.” Throughout the course, they were taught a wide range of critical subjects, including general management, strategic thinking, finance, business communication, design thinking, AI, and more.

Participants shared personal reflections, expressing deep appreciation for the knowledge gained, the insightful interactions with faculty, and the vibrant peer learning environment. One participant said, “I’m walking out with a new mindset,” while another added, “The program helped immensely in upskilling and adding real value.” Sharing their journey, one participant reflected, “As an entrepreneur, I knew how to do business but by the end of this program, I now know how to do it systematically.”

Delivering the valedictory address, Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam, congratulated the participants and emphasized the importance of the core values of humility, honesty, harmony, and humanity. He urged the cohort to nurture a constant hunger for learning, noting that excellence is a moving target that requires continuous effort. He stressed that in today’s dynamic business environment, success hinges not only on managing resources effectively but also on managing relationships. Programs like the EPBM, he said, offer professionals a valuable degree of control over the future, equipping them with the mindset and tools needed to lead.

Prof. Amit Shankar, Program Co-Director, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the participants, their families, faculty, and all stakeholders who contributed to the program’s success. A special highlight of the session was the appreciation of the top three capstone projects, showcasing innovative and impactful ideas developed during the program.
