Inaugural Function of Batch-4 of Mid-Career Management Development Program – Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
Visakhapatnam, 17th November 2025: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam inaugurated the Mid-Career Management Development Program under the aegis of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for the fourth batch on 17th November 2025. Twenty-Eight senior scientists from the various centers of ICMR are participating in the program.
Prof. Prashant Premkumar Nair, Program Director, introduced the thoughtfully designed curriculum grounded in the 70:20:10 learning model. The program integrates key modules on leadership, strategic decision-making, resource management, gamified learning, and emerging technologies such as the metaverse.
Dr. Sanghamitra Pati, Addl. Director General, ICMR served as the Chief Guest for the inaugural session. In her address, she emphasized the importance of capacity building among scientists, who will serve as the torchbearers for future generations. She reflected on the journey of ICMR’s collaboration with IIM Visakhapatnam in launching management training programs for ICMR scientists. She stressed the importance of 360 degree capacity building which aligns with the vision of PM-ABHIM.
Prof. Kaveri Krishnan, Program co-director, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to Chief Guest Dr. Sanghamitra Pati for gracing the event, and Prof M. Chandrasekhar for his constant support and guidance. She encouraged all the participants to remember that true progress is made not just through individual brilliance, but through teamwork, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence.
