IIM Visakhapatnam Strengthens PGPMCI Network with IIIT Kottayam
The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) has expanded its academic collaborations by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kottayam (IIIT Kottayam) under the Post Graduate Program in Management for Centrally Funded Technical Institutions and Institutions of National Importance (PGPMCI). This partnership further strengthens IIMV’s efforts to integrate management education with technical excellence across leading institutions in India.
Launched in 2023, the PGPMCI program is a collaborative initiative involving IIM Visakhapatnam, NIT Warangal, IIITDM Kurnool, and IIPE Visakhapatnam. It is designed to enable engineering students and recent graduates to acquire specialized management skills alongside their B.Tech or M.Tech studies. The program offers around 360 contact hours of teaching, delivered online over one year, with students typically engaging for 8 to 10 hours per week across 30 to 35 weeks. Optional campus immersion sessions allow participants to interact with peers and faculty, while the second module begins with a mandatory on-campus component for experiential learning.
The PGPMCI program empowers students to:
• Boost career prospects in employment, entrepreneurship, and higher education.
• Broaden career options and increase potential for higher compensation packages.
• Earn a prestigious management degree within a year of graduation, with qualifying students eligible for both a Diploma in Business Management (DBM) and an MBA from NIRF-ranked IIM Visakhapatnam.
• Skip the CAT examination, saving time, costs, and uncertainties in traditional admission processes.
• Experience rapid return on investment through a cost-effective path to a premier MBA.
• Access a dynamic alumni network for continuous mentorship, career guidance, and professional growth opportunities.
Through this MoU, IIM Visakhapatnam continues to extend the reach of the PGPMCI network, enabling more students from technical institutions to gain access to high-quality management education. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to fostering innovation, multidisciplinary learning, and industry-oriented leadership for the future.
