IIMV Permanent Campus Inauguration - 20.02.2024
The honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, virtually inaugurated the picturesque permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam (IIMV) on 20th February 2024 (Tuesday). The new permanent campus, a world-class Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) five-star-rated facility on 241 acres of land, is set up at Gambheeram Village in Anandapuram Mandal, Visakhapatnam, under the visionary leadership of Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director of IIMV.
Prof. M. V. Anuradha formally introduced and extended a warm welcome to The Honourable Minister of Education of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Botcha Satyanarayana; The Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha, Visakhapatnam, Shri M.V.V. Satyanarayana; The Honourable Member of Legislative Assembly (Bheemili Constituency), Shri Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao; and The Collector & District Magistrate, Dr. A. Mallikarjuna, who graced the occasion with their esteemed presence for the grand inauguration.
During his introductory speech, Prof. M. Chandrasekhar formally extended sincere gratitude to the esteemed guests on behalf of the entire IIMV Fraternity. He further expressed profound appreciation to the government of Andhra Pradesh for graciously providing the site for establishing IIMV. Moreover, he illuminated the institute's remarkable sustainability initiative, emphasising its expansive 241-acre campus's imminent attainment of net-zero status in energy consumption, water usage, and carbon footprint. This notable achievement is a testament to the institute's unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and pioneering innovation.
Our esteemed guest, Dr. A. Mallikarjuna, expressed satisfaction by fulfilling the commitments as per schedule 9. He was confident that projects such as IIM would significantly impact the educational ecosystem. He expressed his confidence in the institute's continued prosperity and growth and congratulated all the students on such a momentous occasion.
IIMV offers diverse programs, including post-graduate, executive education, PhD, and Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship Programs with 600 students. Notably, it holds the esteemed 29th position among business schools nationwide in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 by the Government of India (GoI). Impressively, it maintains its lead over all new-generation IIMs established in 2015 and 2016 for the second consecutive year. Additionally, IIMV is proudly certified as a Great Place to Work® with over 100 professionals.
The Institute is uniquely distinguished as the sole IIM entrusted by the Capacity Building Commission and the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India to conduct the Young Scientist Induction Program for all the Science and Technology Ministries and Departments of the GoI.
Furthermore, boasting one of the country's most rapidly expanding incubators, the Institute is dedicated to fostering and advancing startups. Its entrepreneurship development initiatives have garnered national acclaim and secured funding from various ministries of the GoI, as well as esteemed public and private sector organisations. Additionally, it has been selected as an Atal Incubation Centre by the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), GoI.
