Mid-Career Training Program-I for Indian Ordnance Factory Service Officers

Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam is proud to host 22 officers of the Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) for the concluding week of their Mid-Career Training Program. Following three weeks of intensive learning at the National Academy of Defence Production (NADP), Nagpur, the officers have joined IIMV for a five-day immersive management module. 

Prof. M Shameem Jawed, Program Director, welcomed the participants, each with over ten years of experience, and introduced the program’s practice driven curriculum. The sessions are designed to provide hands on insights into business level strategies, inventory management, capital budgeting and investment appraisal, sourcing strategies, contract design, and other key areas aligned with the evolving needs of leadership in the defence ecosystem. 

The Guest of Honour, Shri Koteswara Rao A, Deputy General Manager, NADP, emphasized the importance of continuous learning and visionary capacity building in public service, while appreciating IIMV’s impactful initiatives. In his inaugural address, Prof. M Chandrasekhar, Director, IIMV, offered valuable insights on change management, gap analysis, and the role of adaptive and adoptive strategies, particularly in the defence context.

Prof. Milan Kumar, Program Co-Director, in his vote of thanks, shared that it is a matter of pride and privilege for IIM Visakhapatnam to partner in and contribute to the nation's defence development, and extended his gratitude to all those who made the program possible.
