IIM Visakhapatnam Inaugurates 9th Batch of NFLP
November 10 , 2025: IIM Visakhapatnam welcomed 34 distinguished faculty members from across the nation for the 9th batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program (NFLP) under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Program, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The five-day programme aims to empower faculty members in current and prospective leadership roles at higher education institutions by enhancing their technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills for effective future leadership.
In his address, Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam, emphasized the importance of leadership development in academic institutions. He also spoke about the key initiatives and achievements of IIM Visakhapatnam, highlighting its commitment to advancing leadership in higher education.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. G. P. Raja Sekhar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, as the Chief Guest. He spoke on “Leadership in Academia: Pathways and Challenges through Case Studies,” drawing from his rich experience and reflecting on the role of academic leaders, the challenges along their journey, and the importance of resources and collaboration in navigating them. His insights set the tone for a week of immersive learning and reflection.
Program Director Prof. M. Shameem Jawed and Co-Director Prof. Anuradha M. V. extended a warm welcome, encouraging active engagement, exchange of diverse perspectives, and collaborative learning throughout the program.
