Duration and Schedule
  • 40 hrs (32 sessions of 1.25 hrs)
  • The programme will be conducted (tentatively) between November 15, 2023 to February 15, 2024. There will be two sessions per day on the weekdays and select weekends from 6:00 pm to 7.30 pm and 7:45 pm to 9:15 pm.
Introduction
The Advanced Coursework Module (ACM) is designed for students who have successfully completed the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) Program of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India (GoI). Successful completion of the ACM will lead to a PG Certificate in Public Policy and Development (PGCPPD). 

Objective
The aim of the Advanced Coursework Module is to build on the two-year “Certificate in Public Policy & Management” of the MSDE-GoI designed as the MGNF Scheme. The Program aims to further the knowledge and skills of the MGN Fellows, so that they could contribute the economic advancement, social progress, and inclusive development with expertise in public policy and development management. Advanced knowledge and skillsets also help the MGN Fellows further their professional and personal growth and career prospects. The ACM facilitates the MGN Fellows leverage the “credits” earned from the MGNF Certificate Program towards earning a higher-order academic title, viz., Post-Graduate Certificate, in accordance with the spirit of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. 

The Basic Course Module (BCM), comprising 100 hours of classroom inputs under MGNF certificate program at any IIM will be duly recognized and “Credit Transfer” into the PG Certificate Program.

Upon completion of the ACM, participants will have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to analyze complex policy issues, develop evidence-based policy solutions, and provide well-informed recommendations to policymakers. They will also have gained an understanding of the key drivers of economic growth and development, as well as the role of public policy in promoting inclusive and sustainable development. Contents
The Advanced Coursework Module Comprising 40 hours consists the following sub-modules:
  • Sub-Module-1: Economic Growth & Development (5 hours)
  • Sub-Module-2: Computational Public Policy (10 hours)
  • Sub-Module-3: Public Policy for a Digital World (10 hours)
  • Sub-Module-4: Financing Innovation and Growth (5 hours)
  • Sub-Module-5: Advanced Data Modelling and Visualization (10 hours)
Programme Delivery Mode & Software Requirement:
  • Zoom Software: It will be in Device-to-Device (D2D) mode on the Zoom platform. The participants are required to login for attending the sessions from their computer. A stable 4G/Broadband internet connection will be required.
Who Should Attend?
Mahatma Gandhi National Fellows from any Indian Institute of Management, either graduated or due for graduation by 31 October 2023 with a Certificate in Public Policy and Management. No other applicant is eligible for admission into the ACM.

Certification
The participants who successfully complete the ACM will be awarded a Post-Graduate Certificate in Public Policy and Development (PGCPPD) by IIM Visakhapatnam.

Registration:
The candidates are requested to register and pay online with all required details. Here’s the registration fees for MGNF students of IIM Visakhapatnam and any other IIM. The fees once received for the program cannot be transferred to other programs and are non-refundable.

The final date of registration is November 30th, 2023.
On receipt of payment of registration fees and duly filled registration form, the participants will receive a confirmation and invitation email by December 15th , 2023.

Registrations will continue a first come-first-serve basis (based on the above-mentioned steps and fulfilment of criterion) until December 14th, 2023, or until the maximum intake (as determined by IIMV) is met, whichever happens earlier.

Kalyan Kolukuluri is a PhD (Economics), Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. His broad research interests lie in empirical evaluation of public support programs in various domains. Currently, he is engaged in the study of programs related to health and in empirically understanding the nature of risk and insurance for households. Prior to his doctoral degree, he did his master's degree in public policy from SDA Bocconi, Italy and has an undergraduate degree in Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. Post-his graduation, he worked in industry for five years.

Prof. Shameem has done his FPM (PhD) in Finance & Accounting area from IIM Indore. His teaching interests are Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Valuation, Start-up Financing and Financial Analytics. His research interest primarily lies in Corporate Finance, Governance, Capital Markets, Entrepreneurship and Tourism domain.

Shameem has been training and mentoring Start-ups and handhold them from ideation to implementation phase since the last three years. He has successfully incubated 40+ women ventures, under Women Startup Program being funded by NSTEDB (DST) and Goldman Sacs over the last three years. He also heads the G3 TBI at IIM Visakhapatnam under the TIDE 2.0 program of MeitY, GoI. He also actively trains the faculty & administrators of various government funded technical institutions on various aspects of Entrepreneurship development in Academic institutions under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP)-III, under the aegis of the National Project Implementation Unit, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. He has been actively sharing his knowledge and knowhow in the entrepreneurship space as Keynote and Invited speaker at various forums like ALEAP, Vizag Chamber of Commerce, TiE, AU, NASSCOM, among others.
