Admission Process for the year 2025
This document outlines the detailed information about the eligibility criteria, selection process, and application procedures for the Post-Graduate Program in Management for the Centrally Funded Technical Institutions / Institutions of National Importance (PGPMCI) at IIM Visakhapatnam (IIMV). In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the IIM Visakhapatnam has started this program in collaboration with National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NIT Warangal), Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kurnool (IIITDM Kurnool), Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, Visakhapatnam (IIPE Visakhapatnam), National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh (NIT Andhra Pradesh), National Institute of Technology, Manipur (NIT Manipur). National Institute of Technology, Mizoram (NIT Mizoram), National Institute of Technology, Agartala (NIT Agartala), National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya (NIT Meghalaya), National Institute of Technology, Nagaland (NIT Nagaland), National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NIT Jalandhar), National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (NIT Kurukshetra), National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (NIT Jamshedpur). Now on, these institutes will be referred as Participating Technical Institutions (PTIs) in this document.
Further, as per the approval of the BoG, IIM Visakhapatnam, the institute will explore to partner with more CFTIs – namely, NITs and IIITs for the current academic year. If, any new CFTI signs MOUs with IIMV during the admissions cycle, they will be included in the list of PTIs and their students will be eligible to apply for this program under existing rules.
Eligibility Criteria:
There will be two modules in the program. Below are the eligibility criteria for both the modules.
Module-1: Diploma in Business Management (DBM)
- 6th, 7th or 8th semester BE/BTech (any branch); and Semester 2nd, 3rd or 4th semester ME/MTech/MSc.(Tech) [or Equivalent] (any branch) students of PTIs
(OR)
- Alumni of PTIs are also eligible. However, this will be limited to the BE/BTech/MTech/ MSc.(Tech) [or equivalent] degree holders of the PTIs from the current year and the immediately preceding year batches only.
- Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) Fellows (graduates of certificate program in public policy and management from 9 different IIMs) of most recently graduated batch.

Note: Percentage equivalent of Grade Point Average (GPA) will be reckoned as follows for admission:- The candidates who have the above specified qualifications and satisfy the following cut-off percentages (GPA) criteria with respect to their category will be eligible for the further admission process.

- For eligible students: GPA as of the end of the latest semester for which results were declared by the PTIs.
- For eligible Alumni: GPA calculated from all graded semesters of the previous qualifying examination.
Module-2: Master of Business Administration (MBA)*
- Successful completion of Module-1.

- BE/BTech or ME/MTech Graduates/Post-Graduates from Partnering Institutions (PTIs)
*The detailed admission criteria for Module-2 will be notified at a later stage.
Note: Eligibility for the program does not constitute a guarantee of admission.
Selection Criteria
To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, we have established the following criteria:
Online Application: All applicants are required to submit an online application form along with a Statement of Purpose (SoP) and the necessary supporting documents.
Aptitude Test: The Institute, in collaboration with PTIs and/or a reputable third-party agency, will conduct a proctored online test to assess all the eligible participants.
Note: Candidates who have the valid test score of either CAT/GRE/GMAT will be exempted from appearing in the PGPMCI Aptitude Test.
Preparation of Merit List for Final Selection: The merit list for final selection will be prepared based on the following criteria:

(*) In order to promote female participation in the cohort, as an Institute Policy, an additional score will be awarded to women candidates.
Students are required to pay a nominal fee of ₹250/- for the aptitude test.
Note: Candidates who may have appeared for CAT/GRE/GMAT and have valid test scores can be exempted from appearing in the PGPMCI Aptitude Test.
Based on the requirement, once the application submission phase is completed, IIM Visakhapatnam will assign score to each candidate’s profile. Based on the score it will roll out the admissions offers as per the below mentioned cut-offs.
Application Process
Here is a step-by-step guide to the application process:
Call for Application: The call for applications will be announced in the month of October 2023. You can find the notification on the official websites of IIMV and partnering Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (PTIs’).
Online Application: To apply, you must complete the online application by filling in the required information. Below is the respective application portal link for your reference. https://admissions.iimv.ac.in/pgpmci
We encourage all eligible candidates to review the admissions process carefully and apply within the specified timelines. Please note that if a candidate fails to submit the online application form within the specified timeline, they will no longer be considered for admission to the PGPMCI for the batch of 2025-27 at IIM Visakhapatnam.
Any dispute concerning Admissions for the PGPMCI program would be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts within the territorial jurisdiction of the city of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) only.
