IIM Visakhapatnam Opens PGPMCI Admissions for CFTI/INI Students and Recent Graduates; BPCL to Support 40 Full Scholarships

Visakhapatnam, August 2026: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) has opened admissions for the fourth batch (2027-29) of its Post Graduate Program in Management for Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) Institutions of National Importance (INIs) (PGPMCI), a modular management programme designed for students and recent graduates from premier technical institutions across India.

A major highlight of the programme is the BPCL Techno-Manager Leadership Scholarship, a CSR initiative of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in partnership with IIM Visakhapatnam. Under the initiative, 40 meritorious and economically deserving students will receive a 100% tuition fee scholarship for the Diploma in Business Management (DBM) module, based on a merit-cum-means selection process.

Introduced in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, PGPMCI provides a flexible pathway for technically trained students and recent graduates to acquire management capabilities early in their careers. The programme has grown steadily, with 230+ students and alumni joining PGPMCI across its first three batches.

The programme follows a modular structure. Participants begin with Module 1, comprising 360 hours and 36 credits, leading to a Diploma in Business Management (DBM) from IIM Visakhapatnam. Eligible participants can subsequently pursue Module 2, comprising 520 hours and 52 credits, to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Delivered primarily through live online evening and weekend classes, PGPMCI allows participants to pursue management education alongside their academic or professional commitments, complemented by campus immersion, experiential learning, industry interactions and career-readiness support. The programme is open to eligible B.Tech./B.Arch. and M.Tech./M.Arch. students from Partnering Technical Institutions (PTIs), as well as eligible recent graduates from CFTIs/INIs, and builds capabilities across key areas of management and leadership. Candidates with valid CAT, GRE or GMAT scores are exempted from the PGPMCI Aptitude Test.

Career Guidance and Support is built into the PGPMCI curriculum through two mandatory, credit-bearing Career Readiness Labs one in Module I and another in Module II. These labs are designed to help participants systematically develop career planning and professional skills, including profile building, resume development, interview preparation, communication and workplace readiness. The programme will also provide structured career guidance and industry orientation to help participants make informed career choices and prepare for evolving roles at the intersection of technology, business and management.

“Through PGPMCI, IIM Visakhapatnam continues to expand access to management education for students with strong technical foundations, equipping them with the managerial and leadership capabilities required for emerging professional roles,” said Prof. M. Shameem Jawed, Programme Chair, PGPMCI, IIM Visakhapatnam.

IIM Visakhapatnam, a member of AACSB International and a BGA-accredited institution, continues to strengthen its academic offerings through programmes that combine rigorous management education with industry relevance and contemporary learning needs.
