Placement Process Guidelines
The recruitment process at the Institute is coordinated by the Career Development Services (CDS) Office along with the Student Placement Committee. The Institute provides all necessary support in terms of infrastructure and facilities to ensure the smooth conduct of the recruitment process. Recruitment at IIM Visakhapatnam is a rolling process.
The indicative flow of activities is mentioned below:
Recruiter Outreach & Invitation
Before the beginning of the placement season, the CDS office/Student Placement Team sends out the invitation to all the regular/fresh recruiters indicating the batch profile, timelines and other details. Recruiters interested in hiring from IIM Visakhapatnam can also directly reach out to the CDS office.
Confirmed recruiters share the job opportunities, detailed job descriptions (including CTC breakup) and selection process with the CDS office.
Pre-Placement Talk
Based on the slots, recruiters are invited to deliver the pre-placement talk to interact with the batch (or interested students) and share information about their organization, culture, compensation, location, and selection stages, followed by an open Q&A session.
Student Registration
Eligible students register on the Institute’s placement portal and apply for the available opportunities within a given time. The details of all students along with their CVs are then shared with the recruiter.
Shortlisting
Recruiters shortlist students and share the list with the CDS office at least two days before the conduct of the selection process.
Selection Process
On the given date and slot, recruiters either visit the campus or conduct the selection process in online mode, which may consist of tests, group discussions, case discussions, and interviews as per the organization’s recruitment policy.
Offer Declaration
Recruiters are expected to declare the result of the selection process on the same day. Offer letters should be shared at the earliest, with a copy also sent to the CDS office.
