The “Capacity-building program in Procurement of Goods & Services” program is being conducted by IIM Visakhapatnam for scientists and officers of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

This five-day capacity-building program in Procurement of Goods & Services is designed to strengthen the procurement competencies of DRDO professionals, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and compliance in public procurement. As procurement plays a strategic role in defence research and development, the programme focuses on equipping participants with a comprehensive understanding of legal frameworks, policy guidelines, and operational best practices.

The programme covers key themes such as legal aspects of procurement, dispute resolution and arbitration, integrity mechanisms, tender documentation, costing fundamentals, DRDO procurement procedures, contracting, and procurement through GeM. Sessions also delve into red flags in procurement, prevention of corruption, and management of overseas procurement logistics. Real-world case studies and policy applications reinforce practical learning.
