IIM Visakhapatnam and NeGD Advance Digital Transformation Leadership

The five-day capacity-building programme on “Managing Large Digital Transformative Projects” was organised by the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

Led by Programme Directors Prof. Srinivas Josyula and Prof. Abhishek Srivastava, the programme was held from 1-5 June 2026. It brought together 25 professionals from government departments and PSUs. The programme covered various aspects of digital transformation, project risk management, design thinking, digital governance, cybersecurity, digital public infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

The inaugural session featured Prof.  D. V. L. N. Somayajulu, Director, National Institute of Technology Manipur. He spoke on evidence-based decision-making, analytics-driven governance, AI-led transformation, and cybersecurity in large-scale digital projects. He also highlighted government initiatives such as IndiaAI and Bodhan AI, while discussing the role of AI in education, ranging from examinations to accreditation and effective utilisation for productivity.

The programme concluded with case study presentations and a valedictory address by Prof. V. Venkata Rao, former faculty member at IIM Ahmedabad, who shared valuable insights from a user-centric perspective on IT projects, highlighting interface design, user expectations, process integration, and the importance of practical implementation.
