IIM Visakhapatnam Welcomes Indian Ordnance Factory Service Officers for a Mid-Career Training Programme

IIM Visakhapatnam, in partnership with the National Academy of Defence Production (NADP), welcomed around 30 Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) officers from across the country for a five-day Mid-Career Training Programme.
The programme, led by Prof. M. Shameem Jawed and Prof. Milan Kumar, is designed to strengthen strategic leadership and managerial capabilities through an immersive learning experience. The curriculum includes modules on Finance, Operations, Strategy, and Contemporary Geopolitical Risk in International Business, complemented by case discussions and simulations.
Addressing the participants during the inaugural session, Prof. Milan Kumar, Programme Director, emphasized the growing importance of technology in driving speed and scale across product lifecycles. He stressed the importance of supporting the nation's vision of building an export-oriented defence sector.
Bringing together officers from diverse functional domains, including Human Resources, Procurement, Stores Management, and Production, the programme provides a platform for cross-functional learning, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. M. Shameem Jawed, who expressed his gratitude to the participants and made a special mention of Dr. J. P. Dash, Principal Director, National Academy of Defence Production, acknowledging his continued support and collaboration in making the programme possible.
