Successful Conclusion of the Chief Technology Officer Programme
The 11-month Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Programme at IIM Visakhapatnam culminated in a three-day campus immersion and valedictory, bringing together over 60 participants for the successful conclusion of their learning journey.
Designed to provide a strategic platform for accomplished technology leaders, the programme equipped participants with the capabilities required to lead enterprise technology functions, align technology initiatives with business goals, and drive sustainable competitive advantage.
The campus immersion commenced with an inspiring address by Prof. Vishal Singh Patyal, Dean (Accreditation), who welcomed the cohort and set the tone for three days of collaborative learning, reflection, and networking.
Delivering the valedictory address, Ms. Shruti Shree, Director, EY India, shared insights into the evolving role of Chief Technology Officers in an increasingly digital world. Drawing on her expertise in cybersecurity, data privacy, and technology consulting, she emphasised that modern technology leadership is built on the pillars of business, people, and trust, with people remaining at the centre of every technology decision.
She left participants with three powerful principles for future-ready leadership:
• Most technology challenges are fundamentally people challenges, and leaders must focus on how technology empowers people.
• Evaluate technology by the value it creates, not by the hype surrounding it.
• Curiosity is more valuable than expertise in a rapidly changing world, enabling leaders to ask better questions and embrace the future with confidence.
Led by Programme Directors Prof. Gaurav Dilip Tikas and Prof. Pankaj Vishwakarma, the programme comprised nine comprehensive modules that empowered technology leaders to drive innovation, digital transformation, and organisational growth.
As an Institution of National Importance, an AACSB member, and a BGA-accredited business school, IIM Visakhapatnam continues to develop future-ready leaders equipped to shape the evolving technology landscape.
