Dr. Sunitha has an MA (Teaching English as a Second Language) and a PhD (English Language Education) from the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. Her PhD thesis was titled "Effect of Explicit Instruction of Formulaic Sequences on the Oral Fluency of Young ESL Learners". Her research has centred around Second Language Acquisition with the primary focus on formulaic sequences and oral fluency.

  • Qualified the UGC National Eligibility Test for Assistant Professorship in Linguistics – September 2015.
  • Master of Arts in Linguistics from Annamalai University (Distance mode) – May 2016
  • A 6-week course on ‘English in Early Childhood: Language Learning and Development’ offered by the British Council on Future Learn – April 2020.
  • A 4-week course on ‘Teaching English Online’ offered by Cambridge Assessment English on Future Learn – June 2020.
