Financial Literacy Talk for Women Held Ahead of International Womens Day
In the run-up to International Women’s Day (March 8), a session on Financial Literacy for Women was delivered by Prof. Shameem Jawed, Faculty in the Finance & Accounting area and Director (Operations), IIMV FIELD. The session highlighted the importance of financial awareness, thoughtful planning, and informed decision-making in enabling women to build long-term financial security and independence.
Rather than focusing only on technical aspects of finance, the talk emphasized the broader ethos of responsible financial behaviour-balancing protection, growth, and stability while making choices aligned with personal goals and life priorities. The discussion encouraged the women participants to view financial planning as an essential life skill that supports both personal well-being and family security.
Both faculty and staff members attended the session, making it an engaging and reflective interaction. With women contributing significantly across faculty and staff, the institution reaffirms its commitment to fostering a campus culture that supports financial empowerment, confidence, and holistic well-being.
