Leading with Care: Advancing Women’s Health
In the run-up to International Women’s Day, as part of our ongoing general health awareness initiatives, the IIM Visakhapatnam conducted an awareness session on female-related cancers.
The session was led by Dr. Mamatha Pothala, MBBS, MS (OBG & Gynaec), who shared valuable insights on common cancers affecting women. She emphasized the importance of early detection and regular screening, addressed prevalent myths and stigma, encouraged healthy lifestyle practices, and highlighted preventive measures such as vaccination.
The session was jointly organized by the Women’s Cell and the Health Centre.
As a proactive step towards preventive healthcare, the Institute is also planning to facilitate an internal HPV vaccination drive for interested members.
With women comprising over 50% of our PGP cohort and a strong representation across faculty and staff, we remain committed to fostering a campus culture that advances well-being.
