Student Profile

As a first-year PhD scholar in Economics at IIM Visakhapatnam, I am passionate about research and eager to explore complex economic issues. My academic journey has strengthened my commitment to high-quality research. At IIM Visakhapatnam, I am building the research skills needed to address contemporary economic challenges. With guidance from distinguished faculty and exposure to rigorous research methods, I aim to contribute meaningful research in sustainability, environmental economics, and the blue economy that can inform policy and create real-world impact.

As a first-year PhD scholar, I am grateful to be part of an intellectually stimulating and supportive research environment. Being surrounded by experienced faculty, inspiring mentors, and fellow researchers motivates me to learn continuously and think critically. Their guidance and encouragement have given me the confidence to explore new research ideas, strengthen my analytical skills, and develop as an independent researcher. I look forward to deepening my understanding of strategic management and contributing meaningful research to the field.

I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam, where the guidance of distinguished faculty and a collaborative research environment have been  instrumental in shaping my academic journey. My interests lie in advancing rigorous, evidence-based research in public policy and development, with the aim of contributing to informed policymaking and meaningful societal impact. 

As a PhD scholar in Production and Operations Management at IIM Visakhapatnam, my academic journey has strengthened my commitment to high-quality research. With guidance from distinguished faculty and exposure to rigorous research methods, I aim to contribute meaningful research in sustainability, MSMEs, and the circular economy that can inform policy and create real-world impact.

Srijita is a Doctoral Scholar in Marketing with interdisciplinary expertise spanning Engineering, Management, and Strategic Research. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) with Dual Specialization in Marketing and Human Resource Management from Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad; and a BTech (Honours) in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Future Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata.

She has served as an Academic Associate in the Strategic Management Group at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, where she contributed to academic assistance to the faculty. Her industry experience includes roles as Deputy Manager in the Innovation Function at Shriram Life Insurance Company Limited; and Management Trainee (Sales) at G4S Secure Solutions India Private Limited, providing her with diverse exposure to strategy, innovation, and customer-centric business practices.

Her research interests lie in Sustainable Fashion, Green Branding, Circular Fashion Economy, Neuromarketing, and Destination Branding.

Nandan Dhar is a first-year doctoral scholar in Economics and Social Sciences area at IIM Visakhapatnam, focusing on Financial Markets, Macroeconomy and technology governance. He is driven by the institute’s excellent research environment, working alongside a collaborative peer group and dedicated research mentors to pursue rigorous, meaningful contributions to the field.

Akshay Shyamsingh Bayas is a Doctoral Scholar in the Decision Sciences area at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam. He previously completed the first year of the full-time PhD programme
in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur. His academic interests are driven by curiosity, the application of analytical methods to real-world decision problems, and a commitment to impactful research.
