Career Development Support & Guidance
With a view to enhancing the employability of graduates of the PGPMCI Programme, whether exiting after Module-I with the Diploma in Business Management (DBM) or completing Module-II and obtaining the MBA degree, IIM Visakhapatnam will engage an external professional agency (hereinafter referred to as the “Career Guidance and Support Agency” or “CGSA”), at its own cost. The nature and extent of such engagement will be determined based on the prior experience of the Institute in such matters.
Towards implementing this initiative, the DBM and MBA students will elect a committee from among themselves, called the Career Progression Assistance Committee (CPAC-DBM or CPAC-MBA, as applicable), comprising not more than 10% of the respective class strength. The elected student committee will identify from among its members a Primary Point of Contact (PPoC) and a Secondary Point of Contact (SPoC). The PPoC and SPoC shall be the only authorised student representatives who will:
-coordinate with the CPAC, which in turn will coordinate with the respective batchmates; and
-coordinate with the CGSA on behalf of the respective CPAC.
The services to be extended by the CGSA will include:
- Two mandatory, credit-bearing Career Readiness Labs (Module-I and Module-II) integrated into the curriculum, providing structured learning and guidance in career planning, resume building, LinkedIn optimisation, interview preparation, sector-specific career pathways, role-based mentoring, mock interviews, and AI-enabled interview practice.
- The elected Career Progression Assistance Committee (CPAC) will work closely with the CGSA to coordinate career development activities, including facilitating corporate outreach and employer engagement, coordinating hiring processes and recruitment activities, and representing students’ career-related requirements.
It is expressly clarified that the role of IIMV, CPAC and CGSA is limited to guiding, facilitating and/or enhancing the capabilities and preparedness of students. None of them shall be responsible for or provide any guarantee or assurance of placement, employment, recruitment, salary, role or any other career outcome to any student.
